There are also several ‘exercises’ Mark has developed and used in his 15 year old Floorplay Basics Sessions which help with lead/follow, balance, footwork control and understanding of the many elements of WCS that would be too difficult to explain here. Look for his Instructional tapes to be available soon.

There are MANY talented dancers and experienced instructors who have contributed to the constant advancement of WCS. Innovation of new steps and new, easier ways to convey lead and execute follow are introduced every year as the seemingly endless possibilities of WCS continue to present themselves and we the dancers seek to exploit them. Sometimes these new concepts work, and sometimes they don’t. What is great about the dance is that it allows us to explore…

But, is it WCS any more? The debate continues…
The ‘purists’ are saying no…I agree…It’s ‘ Two-play’ or ‘Street’ or ‘Free’ Swing having its ‘roots’ in WCS.
Whatever we’re doing, who cares?
Let’s just continue to have a ball!
