Free Admission!! Free admission for ANYONE wishing to host a table of 10. See details below
Hopefully you are well aware of, and are planning to once again attend our FloorPlay New Years Eve Swing Vacation Event in Orlando, Fl. at the beautiful Rosen Plaza Hotel.
This letter is to offer ANYONE the opportunity to Host a table at this terrific New Years Party attended by over 500 dancers now going into our 11th Year.
Single FNYSV tickets are $125. This includes 4 days attendance to all dance functions and competitions, ALL 10 workshops and Dance Forum, New Years Eve Full Dinner, Entertainment, Midnight Champagne Party and Sat. Night Pizza Party.
ANYONE wishing to ‘Host’ a table of 10 can receive FREE admission and may then sell the other 9 seats at their table at whatever discount they wish, if any. I emphasize ‘Anyone’ because this type of deal is normally reserved for Instructors and Dance Club Representatives only. Remember though we have added Pro-Am Competitions this year (and another Ballroom) along with the 4 levels of J ‘n J’s and the 8th Florida State Swing Championship, so Instructors and Club Rep’s could benefit themselves, students and members by Hosting a table. Multiple table reservation Hosting is ok.
To receive this great deal as a Table Host, the purchase ‘up-front’ of a complete table of 10 seats is required for $1,125.00. (normally $1,250.00). Once a check is received, I will then mail 10 FNYSV Passes at the ‘Best available’ table to the Host.
The earlier you reserve a table, the better seats you’ll have. At this writing 11 front row (of 18) and 3 second row tables are already reserved. Table Hosts will need to send to this address the list of names that will be at their table once accumulated.

SeaPlay Cruise IV turned out to be another great time and vacation away from the everyday grind. I say “turned out to be…” because at first we didn’t have all the pieces in place. However, with 84 dancers joining together for 6 days and nights of dancing and relaxing, our trip to Key West, Grand Cayman and Jamaica became another successful adventure. Except for some rain the first night leaving and the last night coming back the weather was perfect and the sailing very smooth. Along with 10 hours of workshops we managed 12 ½ hours of Open dancing just for our group spread over 5 evenings with one night off to ‘take over’ the ships dance floors in several clubs on board. We were far and away the best dancers wherever we showed up and that includes a few Latin and general dance themed venues, and after our own dance time many of us continued till the ‘wee’ hours every night in the disco. Although our own Open Dancing was ‘on the deck’ under the stars every night, it was the best place to be for floor space that was kept very ‘danceable’. Everyone reported having fun on the land excursions and I was surprised to find there actually was a ‘Bobsled’ ride in Jamaica that several enjoyed (but I missed).
Lots of Thanks to go around beginning with Jean Bell our Cruise Specialist whom as always ‘managed’ getting everyone matched up as ‘roomies’ and much of the initial scheduling. ‘KMac’ – Kevin McDeed our FloorPlay Club DJ whom as always provided great dance music and sound system. Trish Berlanga my fellow Professional Instructor who conducted some terrific workshops and was a delight to have on board. Bill Bray & Maria Hardy FloorPlay Staff who helped set up, break down and coordinate much behind the scenes. And, as always, Thanks to all who joined us on SeaPlay IV and helped make it the fun, friendly, cruise it was. 10 States and Canada were represented and many were repeat cruisers with our group. Stay ‘tuned’ for info regarding SeaPlay V which we now begin setting up for next year. Each year we learn and try hard to improve the program so any suggestions are welcome as well as request of where to go.
This years ship the Carnival Freedom although being a fairly new ship, did not offer the best dance and class venues and we will be sure to check more thoroughly for better accommodations although the staterooms were some of the roomiest I’ve experienced.
We will soon get the group picture out to everyone and it will be posted here on our website. Also, check the web address below for posting of clips from dancing and classes courtesy of Jean Bell.
Thanks again for helping make SeaPlay IV a success and hope to see you all at our FloorPlay New Years Swing Vacation
I am very happy to announce the FloorPlay Dance Clubs™ 15th Anniversary as a Dance Club. At the same time I have to think, WOW, it’s been 15 years! Where does the time go? I was a young man when this got started! Oh well. It’s been a GREAT 15 years and I hope to still be able to dance 15 years from now at our 30th.
I started WCS Classes in January 1994 in Orlando and the club held its first official dance on March 3rd 1995. A few years later we started classes in Melbourne and soon after that in Tampa, Daytona and Jacksonville. With the help of some terrific people in each area we started monthly dances in each location, as well as Jupiter and helped create a WCS base in each community where there previously were none esyablished. Now as WCS continues to grow in popularity, all are flourishing with not just FloorPlay Clubs, but other groups that have been popping up and headed by various Dance Instructors in each area as well as a variety of events and special ‘workshop weekends’ that dancers and promoters fill the calendar with throughout the year. Of note in particular is that many had adopted our format for their monthly dances that has worked so well for us over the years. Florida has certainly taken its place as a major player on the National WCS scene.
In 2000 we held out first FloorPlay Swing Vacation Event in Orlando that has been a great success. It was originally held over Easter weekend a few years and once over the 4th of July but now has become the place to party on New Years for dancers all over the country! Our Florida State Swing Dance Championship is now seven years running, and as a member of the World Swing Dance Council we offer competitors the opportunity to win points and prestige in all levels of Jack ‘n Jill competitions. This year we will be taking our 4th SeaPlay Cruise in April, this time to Jamaica.
FloorPlay was originally, and still, designed simply to offer various dance opportunities to communities by catering to each areas specific needs and desires. From the beginning there has never been any dues, or board or list of by-laws. Being a member of the Club is as easy as attending any classes, dances or other functions coordinated by any area FloorPlay Director and honoring only one rule “Leave your attitude at the door” and the Club motto of ‘Dance with Everybody’. We thank everyone in every community for their tremendous support over the years and going forward we hope you will continue to enjoy the dance opportunities we bring to you. We will continue to expand the FloorPlay ‘family’ of Clubs in any area interested in conducting dance functions for their communities. To this end we are happy to announce the addition of Greensboro, NC. and soon will add Greenville SC. as we continue to add to the ‘family’.
I am very proud of the way our FloorPlay Directors in each community have conducted their various functions and helped elevate the reputation of our Club over the years along with the conduct of our Staff and participants that consistently draws compliments and keeps the atmosphere friendly, fun and enjoyable for all in attendance.
Thank You ALL again for your fantastic support over the past 15 years and we will continue to do our best to bring fun, affordable Dancing opportunities for your pleasure.
